Developing vocational skills for the future starts as early as Elementary School. Amongst the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic, we took the positive step of providing some sponsored sewing machines for Obo and Cancabalong Elementary Schools as a pilot project.
Some of the children took the opportunity to learn new skills using a Singer sewing machine. They started by making pillow covers and garments for their homes. Along with completing their curriculum requirements, this new skill may someday provide additional income for their household. Who knows, we might discover some great fashion designers… With more sewing machines we could spread this pilot project further to empower more children and parents in our community.
