In July, the Scout Groups from Clonmel, Kilsheelan and Ballymacarbry attended their 2 week Annual Camp in Ardmore Co. Waterford. They are members of Scouting Ireland in the Tipperary Cois Suir Scout County. The Scouts and their leaders enjoyed a fantastic 2 weeks of outdoor activities in this lovely seaside location. During my trip home I was lucky to attend for a couple of days for a reunion with my oldest and dearest Scout friends. I updated them on our plans for the Scouting program at the school and shared some photos, videos and sample Scouting uniforms. They were very keen to support us and I was really amazed when after the camp they presented me with the very generous proceeds of a collection they made during their camp. I’m delighted to report that this was enough to provide the uniforms for our Grade I class for SY 16/17. We have purchased 34 BSP & GSP Type A (formal) and Type B (activity) uniforms for each of the children. They were really excited to receive their shiny new uniforms last week and their parents were very appreciative for this support.

Our School Encampment will be held this coming Oct 7/8/9 Fri to Sun at the school, and the District Encampment will be held in November. The children are really excited that they can participate especially now that they have their new uniforms! Scouts supporting Scouts – Creating a better world! Through the generous support of our sponsors we have purchased 2 x 6person and 1 x 4person tents with mats and 2 flash lights towards our School and District Encampments. However we still need more camping equipment. We also need more uniforms for our Grade II, Grade III, Grade IV pupils.
